...Arezzo often welcomed artists from various places, who in turn brought the newest artistic trends into the city. In 1501, for example, Niccolò Soggi (b. 1478/79) introduced into Arezzo the style of Pietro Perugino, one of the main protagonists of Renaissance painting. Soggi updated his own style by flavoring it with elements of classical Roman art, and went on, in Arezzo, to produce panels for private devotion as well as for religious orders. He worked alongside the likes of Domenico Pecori and Spaniard
Fernando de Coca, and late in his working life he widened his repertoire to include building design, before his death in 1552...
